Learn wine culture Adopt a Cru In Aosta Valley

Adopt an Aosta Valley Cru and experience first-hand the cultivation, growth and production of a wine of excellence

Adopting a Cru is the local answer for Valle d’Aosta wine lovers. Participating in this project means being an active member of the viticultural phases of the Grosjean winery. Iscrivendosi a “Adotta un Cru” si potrà diventare fieri protagonisti della quotidianità vitivinicola presso Grosjean Vins.

This project allows you to be an active observer to better know the practices of the vineyard and the winery. You will observe the vegetative life of the plant and follow the agronomic practices such as the pruning, trellising and the harvest. A fascinating discovery of the winery will follow to reveal the filtering, racking, decanting and pumping up operations. Cellar operations will no longer have any secrets, and practices such as racking, racking and fulling will become less mysterious.

Adopt a Cru follows the growth and maturation of the vine from the flowering to the grape cluster and the glass of wine.

The journey is divided into different stages that follow the production and the ageing of the wine.

Firstly you must choose one of our CRU, Rovettaz or Tzeriat, and the the variety. A certificate fo adoption as well as a bottle of vintage wine will follow along with the placing of the nameplate on the row of vines. From then on updates will be sent to your inbox following the different stages of production: pruning from January to March, trelising in April and the harvest in September.

After much patience and dedication the wine will be finally ready to be apreciated and we will send out 6 bottles of the selected variety, stated on the certificate, with a personalised label.

Cru

Rovettaz

Until recently the Rovettaz Vineyard was covered by a thick forest of oak trees.

Hard work, dedication and many hours of labour redeemed value and dignity to this old viticultural site that benefits from an exposure to the Fohn winds that limit the proliferation of fungal deseases. At the moment, its 5.5 hectares of the Rovettaz Vineyard represent the most important and largest production area of a single Valle d’Aosta producer.

The orographic complexity of the site make for the best conditions of growth for our best wines: Petit Rouge (Torrette vigne Rovettaz) is located on the lower fields, the middle section is dedicated to our iconic Valle d’Aosta white, the Petite Arvine, on the steeper slopes we find Fumin that has the best conditions in which to grow. Smaller sections are dedicated to Cornalin and Picotendro.

Cru

Tzeriat

Reclaimed in the 60’s by grandfather Dauphin, the Tzeriat is the oldest vineyard of the Family.

Rising at 750/800 mt. a.s.l., an anfitheatre aspect that protects it from winter’s harsh temperatures and strong wind and has always been an important vinification site for excellent wines. The residents of the Quart Castle, in the near vicinity, during the Early Medieval times produced grapes that produced important wines for the high society of the time. Gatta, notable ampellographic of the 18th century, often quoted the Zario Vineyard (italian term for Tzeriat) among the best terroir of the central valley.

Recently implanted, it is now the site for our best selection of Pinot Noir Tzeriat. Bellow this site runs the elegant Ru Prevot followed by a path along which locals practice mountain sports.
